- Our Story -
2010 - The beginning
Charles and Ollie (founders of Songbird Entertainment) met at music school in London. They found a pub looking for new live music so quickly recorded a 5 song demo, burned it to a CD, and handed it into the bar the next day. Thursday nights at St. Christopher's Inn became a local sensation and was the place to be for a night of sing-along and entertainment. The place where the guys earned their early stripes in entertainment.
2013 - Graduation
Finished with studies and graduating with a BMUS in Music performance & Production it was time to gig no matter when or where (or whomever with), a gig was a gig! Noticeably, the wedding and corporate bands industry tended to lack enthusiasm from musicians and set lists containing some serious ‘dead wood' song choices and a general lack of audience entertainment and interaction.
2016 - Time to Entertain
Forming their own band, “The Late Night Squad” now known as ‘The Getaways', drafting in Ben on Drums/Vocals and Matt on Guitar/Vocals providing energy, enthusiasm and 3 part harmonies, they had one goal in mind, to entertain!! From this moment on The Getaways have performed all over the UK and abroad including Ibiza, Santorini, Dubrovnik, Nice, Doha, Mykonos and the Bahamas.
2020 - Locked down
Yes, we all remember too well that not a lot happened in 2020. However, this was the birth of what was to become Songbird Entertainment. First production undertaken was ‘The Pilgrims' with ‘The High Jinks' following shortly afterwards. ‘The Barrel Boys' were flown to the South of France for their production with ‘3 of Clubs' making their way from Bristol to London for their warehouse shoot.
2023 - The Launch
Songbird Entertainment launched their website with their first 5 bands, providing wedding bands in Hampshire, across the United Kingdom, and the world.
